Cat Rescue in Cold Weather.

December 3, 2024

Today, crews from the Bedington Volunteer Fire Department and Berkeley County Firefighters responded to a Facebook alert about a cat trapped on the bridge support over the railroad tracks near Fairlawn Gardens.

With temperatures dropping into the teens at night and reaching only the 30s during the day, there was heightened concern for the cat's well-being. The feral cat has now been freed from the bridge.

Once on the ground, the cat avoided contact with the firefighters and quickly retreated into the woods, likely returning to its familiar habitat.

The Bedington VFD would like to thank the person who posted on Facebook, helping to save a cat in distress.
